Genome BC Brand Refresh
Client: Genome BC
Challenge: Refresh and personalize an existing brand that’s part of a national network
Solution: Clarity, consistency and big picture thinking. Gradually, over six years, we have helped the organization promote themselves more effectively by focusing on their most important and ground-breaking work.
Genome British Columbia is a leading research organization in life sciences. Established in 2000, Genome BC invests in and manages large-scale genomics and proteomics research projects and enabling technology platforms.
The organization has $400 million (CDN) invested in projects that have the potential to provide genomics-based solutions to issues of critical importance in the areas of human health, agriculture, fisheries, forestry, mining and energy. The work that Genome BC funds and manages is not only relevant to the provincial economy, but also to issues of global significance.
Signals has helped evolve the Genome BC brand over a period of more than six years. Through a variety of touch points, including six annual reports, two major marketing brochures, trade show display and the recently completed website, we have played a key role in clarifying both their messaging and visual brand.
The marketing brochure is used as a business development tool, and as a “leave behind” following meetings with potential international collaborators. Signals developed a main brochure/folder with permanent text and a series of inserts that are printed as needed and included as appropriate. The global issues identified in the brochure are linked visually to the insert sheets. The package can be customized by including only projects relevant to specific audiences.
The trade show booth is designed to highlight the relevance of Genomics in solving issues of global concern. The booth will be used as a public information tool, and to represent the organization in local and international conferences. Unique to the design is an ability to customize the display for a specific audience by inserting a different section that carries messaging about a specific area of interest.
